Mrs. MaryBeth Popham

My name is MaryBeth Popham, and I am thrilled to be a Cartersville Purple Hurricane!

I grew up in Austell, Georgia, located in Cobb County. I graduated from South Cobb High School in 2000, and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University in 2005.

I began my teaching career in August 2006 at Cartersville Elementary. After a few years of teaching, I earned my Masters of Education Degree from American College of Education, and then completed my Education Specialist Degree from Piedmont College in 2019. Since beginning my teaching career, I have had the privilege of teaching grades kindergarten through fifth in a few fantastic elementary schools located in North Dakota, North Carolina, and Colorado. However, I was privileged to join the CPS staff in August 2016, and I am thrilled to be part of the second grade team!

In addition to my love of teaching, my family is also very important to me.  I’ve been happily married to my husband, Matt, since December 2004, and love doing life with him! We have two beautiful daughters, Hannah and Hadley, and one handsome son, Harrison. They each fill our home with tons of fun, and we are so blessed to be their parents.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, serving in my church, shopping, and being active. I also love watching college football and enjoy making memories with friends and family!
