Mrs. Maggie Harris

I am Maggie Harris, and this is my sixth year teaching. I previously taught kindergarten and first grade as a homeroom teacher, and I am now a special education teacher for both kindergarten and first grade! Although I was born and raised in Rockmart, Ga, I currently live in Taylorsville with my husband, Sam, my bonus son, Kohen, son, Weston, and daughter, Mylee. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, animals, and friends.

As for my education, I attended the University of Georgia for four years. During that time, I obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Early Childhood Education as well as a certificate in Learning, Design, and Technology and my reading endorsement. I have also completed my Specialist degree in Reading from Arkansas State University. I believe reading is one of the most valuable subjects taught, and I wholeheartedly believe this will benefit both myself and my students. I also hold my STEM endorsement and special education certification. 

I believe this is going to be a great year filled with learning new things, creating memories and making progress. It makes my heart happy to know that I am at Cartersville Primary School!
