Welcome to CPS! My name is Sarah Emerson and I am one of the Student Support Specialists at CPS. This is my thirteenth year in education. I have previously taught kindergarten and first grade. I have had the privilege to spend my teaching career here at CPS and am honored to serve to support all students! 

As a student support specialist, I work closely with teachers to help students reach their fullest potential. I am passionate about working alongside parents and teachers to help our students achieve their goals.

Dear Cartersville Primary School Families,

WELCOME! My name is Becky Graves, and I am the Student Support Specialist at Cartersville Primary School. This is my twenty-third year in education, and I am honored to work with all students here at CPS! I previously taught first grade for seventeen years and transitioned into supporting teachers and students a few years ago. I am married to Tim Graves who teaches and coaches at Cartersville High School. We have a son named Cooper who attends Cartersville High School.

As the Student Support Specialist, I work closely with teachers in helping their students reach their fullest potential.  I support instructional, intervention, and accommodation needs for struggling students. Teacher Support Specialist

Welcome to CPS!  My name is Lauren Robinson.  I am the Teacher Support Specialist at Cartersville Primary School.  I am so excited to see all that your children will learn and how much they will grow this school year!  I have had the privilege of working and teaching at Cartersville Primary for twenty-three years.  I have experience teaching kindergarten and first grade.  I was also a student at CPS many years ago.  Education is truly where my heart is.  I look forward to working with teachers and students each day.

I am married to Shane Robinson.  We have two sweet boys who keep me busy most of the time.  We also have a dog, Little Bit, who is part of our family too.  I have lived in Cartersville all of my life and graduated from Cartersville High School in 1998.  

I am proud to work at Cartersville Primary School, and I will always be a Purple Hurricane!

Instructional Technology Specialist

Welcome to CPS!  My name is Metta Whitton.  I am the Instructional Technology Specialist at Cartersville Primary School.  I began my teaching career at CPS in 2006. I have taught Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st Grade and STEAM. Classroom technology is my favorite, and I am so excited to work with CPS teachers and students using technology as a learning tool!  

I am a proud purple Hurricane and graduated from Cartersville High School in 1998. I am married to Greg Whitton.  We have two boys, Connor, a junior at CHS, and Landon who is an 8th grader at CMS. We also have 2 crazy goldendoodles: Georgia and Bronx. We love to spend our off time traveling, especially to National Parks.
