Mrs. Jennifer Swan

Hi!  My name is Jennifer Swan, and this is my seventh year teaching music at Cartersville Primary School. I have lived in Cartersville for the past 23 years and have been married to my wonderful husband, Alex, for 26 years. We have 3 children: Alex, 22, Eli, 20, and Emberleigh,16. My musical journey began at the young age of 6 when I began taking piano lessons. From then on, music became an integral part of my life and a love and a passion I realized I could not live without! Upon graduating from college in 1997, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in music by becoming a full-time private piano teacher. A year later, I decided that I wanted to foster a love for music in as many little hearts as possible and become an elementary school music teacher and in 2000, began teaching at Red Bud Elementary in Calhoun, Georgia, where I happily remained for 18 years before becoming blessed with the music position here at CPS. In addition to being a music teacher, I love to read, listen to country music, teach at my gym, spend summers by the pool and at the beach, go to concerts, and teach piano and ukulele lessons. I am also the coordinator of our system's awesome summer camp called Canes Camp and the director of Lyrical Legacies, CPS's 3rd grade chorus. I am thrilled to be part of the Cartersville Schools family and will do my best to serve our system, our community, and your children well!
