Cartersville City Schools accepts a limited number of qualifying out-of-district students throughout the school year based upon school/grade sizes and space availability. Tuition for the current school year is $300 per child.

CURRENT Cartersville City School Student Who Moves Out of District
If you are a current student and have moved out of the Cartersville City School district, you must click here to complete an Application for Non-Resident Enrollment. This must be completed immediately upon your relocation and submitted to the school in which each student is enrolled. The school will notify applicants regarding their student approval status. If approved, tuition is due immediately at the school board office located at 15 Nelson Street. Currently, cash, check or money order is accepted for payment.

Potential Out-of-District Student Applying for CURRENT School Year
STEP 1: OBTAIN NECESSARY DOCUMENTS
- Most recent attendance record(s)
- Most recent school discipline record(s)
- Most recent school report card(s) and most recent transcript (High School)
- Most recent assessment scores (for example: Georgia Milestones, End-Of-Course, etc.)
STEP 2: SUBMIT NON-RESIDENT APPLICATION AND DOCUMENTS
- The Application for Non-Resident Enrollment along with supporting documents should be submitted to the school where the student is applying. Locations are listed under the Contact Us section of this web page.
STEP 3: NON-RESIDENT APPROVAL/PAYMENT/REGISTRATION
- The school will notify applicants regarding their student approval status. Upon approval, tuition can be paid at the school board office located at 15 Nelson Street. Currently, checks, money orders and cash are accepted for payment. Registration can then be completed online using the Online Registration Application. Potential Out-of-District Student Applying for the FOLLOWING School Year
Out of District applications are accepted beginning in February for the following school year. Follow the application steps below. Each school will notify the applicant regarding the approval status and registration process.
- Pre-K and Kindergarten applicants will receive approvals beginning in April and tuition will be invoiced and is due by June 30.
- All other grades will receive approvals beginning in March throughout the summer break. Tuition will be invoiced and is due by July 26. However, no schedules will be given until tuition is paid.
- Those students wishing to try-out in the spring for fall sports may be required to pre-pay tuition before pre-registration can begin.

Tuition Information for Recurring Out-of-District Students
Recurring Out-of-District students are not required to apply each school year. All students who have been approved to remain as Out-of-District students will receive a tuition invoice and non-resident contract which will be mailed by April 15. Tuition is due by June 30 for the upcoming school year. Recurring students have the option to pay through their MySchoolBucks account as well as cash, check or money order at the school board office located at 15 Nelson Street.
