Mr. David Jaye

As the Principal of Cartersville Primary School, Mr. Jaye is responsible for supporting a committed and dedicated team of faculty and staff members in a shared vision to create legacies - one student at a time.  As a legacy and graduate of Cartersville High School, Mr. Jaye's passion for teaching began at CHS, where he took a deep interest in history and the social sciences.

Mr. Jaye began his teaching career at Alexander High School, where he initially served as an athletic coach and special education teacher.  Over the next decade, he taught a wide variety of courses, including U.S. History, AP World History, AP Seminar, and AP Research.  In 2018, he began his career in educational leadership when he was asked to serve as assistant principal for Douglas County High School.  After a successful tenure supporting the largest school in Douglas County, Mr. Jaye was given the opportunity to serve as an elementary school principal for Carroll County Schools in 2020.  For the next four years, Mr. Jaye had the pleasure of working alongside a large team of talented teachers while facilitating tremendous school improvement efforts during COVID and the immediate years that followed.

Mr. Jaye now returns to Cartersville - where it all began, and he could not be more excited!  His wife Brooke is also an educator and has served as a tremendously successful high school math teacher for nearly two decades.  Together they have two boys, Murray and Braxton.
