Ms. Allison Nelson

Hello!  My name is Allison Nelson.  I have been teaching for 25 years and this will be my 15th year at Cartersville Primary School. I have taught first grade for 12 years. This year I will continue teaching Reading EIP.  I love teaching.  It is one of the most interesting jobs a person can have. Students come into my classroom at the beginning of the school year full of curiosity and I have the opportunity to inspire their learning over the year.  The growth that occurs is a combination of parental support, student effort, and quality instruction.  One of the most important relationships is between parents and teachers--an open line of communication is the key to success.

I have one child currently enrolled and two alumni of Cartersville City Schools.   William attends Cartersville High School.  My oldest child, Davis, graduated from Auburn University and is pursuing a Master's Degree at Clemson University. My daughter, Elizabeth, attends the University of Georgia.  As a parent, I understand the importance of the parent/teacher relationship, so I strive to have an open dialogue with my students' parents. I look forward to a wonderful year teaching reading in First Grade!
