Ms. Allison Nelson
Hello! My name is Allison Nelson. I have been teaching for 20 years and the last ten years have been at Cartersville Primary School as a first grade teacher. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Loyola University and a Masters Degree in Reading from Loyola Univerisity. I recently earned a Reading Endorsement for my teaching certificate. Currently, I am attending Piedmont College and I am studying for my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I love teaching. It is one of the most interesting jobs a person can have. Students come in to my classroom at the beginning of school year and I get to help them learn and grow over the course of the year. The growth that occurs is a combination of parental support, student effort and quality instruction. One of the most important relationships is between parents and teacher--an open line of communication is the key to sucess.
I have two children currently in the Cartersville City Schools. Elizabeth is in ninth grade at Cartersville High School and William is in sixth grade at Cartersville Middle School. My oldest child, Davis is a freshmen at Auburn University. As a parent, I understand the importance of the parent/teacher relationship, so I strive to have open dialogue with parents of my students. I look forward to a wonderful year in First Grade!
