Ms. Vanessa Salazar

Welcome to First Grade! 

My name is Vanessa Salazar and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year! I am super excited to be back in the Cartersville City School System, as I attended these schools growing up. I started at CPS in second grade and graduated from CHS in 2014. It feels amazing to be a PURPLE HURRICANE again.  

After graduating from Georgia Highlands College with an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, I attended KSU, graduating in 2021 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master's in May 2024. Along with my teaching certificate, I also have ESOL and Reading Endorsements. I have lived the majority of my life in Cartersville, but was born in Mexico and am fluent in Spanish.

In my classroom, I want your child to know their strengths and weaknesses in order to grow in both areas. I believe that failing is a part of life, and it gives you an opportunity to grow and learn. I will make sure to encourage my students to try again until they become successful. I plan to use instructional approaches to enrich your child's learning and build their skills and confidence to achieve their goals. Our class will be engaging, creative, active learning and have high expectations. I cannot wait to get to know you and your child more this year.
