Mrs. Susan Hatfield

Hi!  My name is Susan Hatfield, and I LOVE teaching Kindergarten at Cartersville Primary School!!  I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1987.  Upon graduating, I took my first teaching job as a First Grade teacher at Emerson Elementary School. In 1988, I married my husband, Hoyt.  We will celebrate 36 years of marriage this year. I taught at Emerson for three years at which time my husband and I decided to begin our family.  I stayed home for fourteen years devoted to raising our children who are now all grown and independent!  Harrison is a Shorter College graduate and  works with my husband's company here in Cartersville. Our middle son, Holden and his wife work on a horse ranch in Nevada. They have blessed us with 2 grandsons.  Our daughter, Claire, is a recent graduate of  Georgia Southern University.  They fill our lives with much love and joy!  During my time at home, I received my Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Design.  This is my 23rd year in the classroom. I adore this age and LOVE having the opportunity to be a child's first experience with school and learning!!  My goal is to instill in each child that enters my room a love for learning, reading, inquiring and growing.

When I'm not preparing for and teaching my students, I enjoy gardening, yoga, reading, entertaining and spending time with my family and friends. :)
