- Short stories: 100-1,600 words
- Poems: up to 500 words
- Song lyrics: up to 300 words
- Screenplay/script: up to 1,000 words (not including formatting)
- Book excerpts: up to 2 chapters (preferably the first ones so readers have context for the story), up to 1,600 words total
