    Chicago Young Writers Review Review:   (open to students through 8th grade)

    • Short stories: 100-1,600 words
    • Poems: up to 500 words
    • Song lyrics: up to 300 words
    • Screenplay/script: up to 1,000 words (not including formatting)
    • Book excerpts: up to 2 chapters (preferably the first ones so readers have context for the story), up to 1,600 words total
