Masters in Foreign Language Education Bachelors in Spanish

Mrs. Adriana Greenwald

My name is Adriana Greenwald and I am happy to welcome you to my Spanish class this year. I am from Costa Rica, and Spanish is my first language.  I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Spanish and later received my Masters of Arts in teaching Spanish from Kennesaw State University. I have taught Spanish for 25 years in the US and previously taught elementary, middle and high school in Costa Rica for 7 years.

I am very excited to get to know each and every one of you as you explore and grow in learning the Spanish language and about different Spanish-speaking cultures. My personal style of teaching brings enthusiasm, cultural elements, and technology into the classroom to increase learning motivation.  Teaching my native Spanish language enables me to draw upon my own culture and personal experience as a foreign language learner, as I teach my students to effectively communicate with me in my own language and, perhaps more importantly, to gain an appreciation for another language and culture.  In my quest to develop independent thinkers, I also strive to promote cross-cultural awareness.

I am enthusiastic about the new school year and our school commitment to world language study. It is my goal that each student will enjoy the rewards of disciplined study in Spanish.
