I love science! It is my favorite subject to teach. The reason is because a teacher made a difference in my life. Dr. James Moreland was my high school Anatomy and Physiology teacher and he was tough. He began a curiosity about the amazing creations that we are. And how it is truly a miracle that we are able to live and breathe. I hope to inspire my students to love to learn and more importantly, to know their worth. I teach the BEST kids! I am excited about starting my 18th year of teaching and my 7th year here at CMS!
My husband, Doug and I moved to Cartersville 15 years ago from my home state of Texas. While in Texas, I taught in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for seven years. I also taught three years at an amazing gifted and talented magnet school in the Houston area (judging science fair projects gets a little more complicated when your student's dad is an astronaut).
I have been married to my best friend, Doug for 21 years. We have three crazy kids (Jack-Freshman at the University of Alabama, Grace-10th grade, and Judah-6th grade) and the cutest rescue dogs: Sophie who is a schnoodle and Fitz our miniature poodle. In my spare time I love to be with my family, do anything crafty, and graphic design. I love my church. While there I teach 10th grade girls Sunday School and lead the drama portion of our kids choir.
