Molly Gann

Hello and welcome to my webpage! This is my first year as part of the CCSS, and I am so humbled by the welcome everyone here has extended me! I am truly excited to be a part of the Hurricane family! This year I began my 29th year in education, and what a journey it has been! I am blessed to have had the opportunity to teach a number of grade levels and to serve in several different capacities within both the Bartow County and Gordon County School Systems. I began my teaching career in 1991 at Cass Middle School as a sixth grade teacher and have since taught 8th grade at Woodland Middle, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English at Woodland High School as well as 1st and 2nd grades at Mission Road Elementary. I have served as both literacy coach and graduation coach at WHS and assistant principal at both Mission Road Elementary and White Elementary. My most recent position took me to Gordon County where I was the literacy coordinator for the system. Although I have enjoyed every position I have ever held, it is the magic of teaching children in the classroom that makes me the happiest.  Needless to say, I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to teach your child at Cartersville Middle School this  year!

Although I grew up in Gadsden, AL, I have been a resident of Cartersville for 29 years and am happy to call this little town my home! I am married to Jason Gann, also an educator, and have three children. Evan, my oldest, is 27 and a nurse at UAB in Birmingham, AL. KayLee Grace, a junior in college, is 20 and will begin the Disney College Program in Orlando this fall. Ari,our youngest, is 16 and a junior at Cartersville High School. I enjoy spending time hiking, cooking out, and watching Alabama football (Roll Tide!) with family and friends.  If Alabama is playing, you can be assured my husband has the smoker going, and we have cleared our schedule to watch the game! We are members of Cartersville First Baptist Church where I sing in choir and on praise team, and my husband plays the drums.  I also enjoy working with the children's ministry.

I believe everyone has areas of strength and areas in which we need to grow. It is my desire to help children reach their full potential by identifying their areas of growth and supporting them in the learning process. In addition, by identifying and building on their strengths, children become more self-confident, willing learners! I also believe parents play a key role in the education of their children, and it is my desire for us to be partners to ensure your child's educational needs are being met. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding your child!
