  • "The purpose of the Young Georgia Authors (YGA) writing competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics."

    WHAT CAN YOU SUBMIT?

    Entries must be your ORIGINAL work and may not be part of a collaboration with another student or a class assignment in which you received feedback from your teacher. Entries must not exceed 1900 words.

    • Personal Narratives      
    • Poetry
    • Short Stories        
    • Essays/Literary Criticism/Analysis
    • Journalism 
    • Any Other Original Student Writing

    Deadline

    Entries must be turned in with a signed entry form no later than Monday, February 16th. School level winners will be announced no later than Monday, February 21st.
