Mr. Brad Burel, Physical Science

I began my teaching career in 1990.  I received a BS in Middle Grade Education from LaGrange College, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Troy State University. Before going into Education, I  managed several businesses and owned my own business which employed a lot of teenagers.  After working with young people in those business ventures, I felt the need to get involved in the education of our youth.  After all, if you're not part of the solution , you're part of the problem right?  So, 30 years later, here I am at Cartersville Middle School and loving every minute of it.  I am excited to come and work everyday to share and explore the wonderment of science with my students.

When I am not in school, I play in a bluegrass band called, "The Old Mill Road Band".  I play the mandolin and have been playing since I was about the same age as my students.  My first real gig was playing summers at Six Flags Over Georgia on the steps of the Crystal Pistol.  Ahh, those were the days!!!
