Mrs. Emily Burrows

Welcome to 8^th grade! I am so excited to be teaching 8^th grade Language Arts this year. I began my teaching career in the middle school setting, and I’m happy to still be teaching this age group. I believe these formative years are some of the most critical in a child’s life. I look forward to building relationships with my students and challenging them to not only grow in knowledge, but to also build character.

I am originally from Tennessee, but I married a Georgia boy, and the rest is history.   I have been happily married to my husband, Joe, for 20 years. I have three beautiful children, Lily (19, Sophomore in the ClemsonLIFE program at Clemson University), Georgia (17, Senior at Cartersville High School), and Hudson (8, 3rd grader at Cartersville Primary). I also have a 4-year-old Golden Retriever named Juniper Berry (aka-Junie) who is quite possibly the sweetest dog ever.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, thrifting, running/working out, watching our favorite sports teams play (Georgia Bulldogs (football) Atlanta Braves (Baseball) and Kentucky Wildcats (Basketball), traveling, and spending time with our church family. I love the community of Cartersville and truly believe that it is unparalleled.
