Hello fellow Canes! I can not wait to get to know each and every one of you! This will be my FOURTH year at CMS and I could not be more excited. I am originally from Gordon County, but I have been a resident of Cartersville since 2007. I love my community and could not imagine living anywhere else. I am married to my husband, Josh, and we have two wonderful daughters, Bailee (19) and Rayne (7). We love to be in nature and travel as a family.
I have had the pleasure of working with adolescents for over 20 years in various capacities. After I graduated from KSU in 2005 with a Bachelor's in Psychology, I spent 9 years as a Juvenile Probation Officer with the Department of Juvenile Justice. I knew I wanted to continue to help adolescents and felt my calling was school counseling, so I went back to school and in 2015 I graduated with my Master's in Professional School Counseling from the University of West Georgia. BEST DECISION EVER! I have been lucky enough to pursue my passion as a school counselor for the last 8 years. I spent my first 3 years at Excel Christian Academy serving students PK-12, 2 years working with 7th and 8th-grade students at Pickens Junior High School, and the last 3 years at CMS. The middle school years can be tough, and I am proud that I get to support students and families during those difficult times. I love what I do and look forward to getting to know and helping my students through their middle school years. I guide students to success through individual, small group, and classroom sessions that focus on social/emotional health, academic achievement, and career exploration. I look forward to working with you and your family and becoming part of the legacy that is Cartersville City Schools.
