What is Color Guard? The Color Guard is the most prestigious after-school curricular activity that Cadets can perform in the JROTC. Mainly consisting of five Cadets are the United States Flag, Georgia Flag, Canes Flag and two rifle bearers, but in special events there may be more or fewer Cadets. The Color Guard is presented at various events, such as school events, sporting events, grand openings, parades, community events and much more.
How do I join Color Guard? Joining Color Guard is very simple. At the beginning of each year there is a Color Guard interest meeting that will briefly explain everything about the Color Guard itself, practices and any other important information.
Why should I join Color Guard? Color Guard is one of the three requirements to receive a Varsity letter in JROTC. When you complete your third Color Guard event, you will receive your Color Guard Cord, Color Guard Ribbon, Color Guard Arc Pin and Color Guard Arc Tab that you can proudly display on your uniforms. Also, you can receive your Class A jacket as a LET 1 or LET 2 early.
