Mrs. Murray has lived in Cartersville since 1999. She moved here with her husband, Coach Murray, who is also a teacher at CHS. Together they have two children and two grandchildren. Mrs. Murray attended college at Kennesaw State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education degree and later attended SCAD to complete her MFA in painting. She teaches all the art classes at CHS. Each student will begin with a Visual Comprehension class and this will lead to more advanced classes. The advanced classes branch into two categories. One pathway is a concentration on two-dimensional work that can lead to two-dimensional AP and drawing AP classes. The second pathway is a three-dimensional class that leads into Sculpture Two and then into a three-dimensional AP course. The AP course offers a student the opportunity to exempt a college-level elective course when attending a two-year or a four-year college. There are also after-school opportunities for anyone in high school with the art club. Along with teaching art studio classes, she is also the head coach of Lady Canes Golf. Go Canes!
