Mrs. Heather Candela

Hello, I am Heather Candela, and I teach Tenth Grade Literature, American Literature, and Chipper. I began my career across town at Woodland High School, where I taught students a variety of English classes over the past seventeen years. My husband coaches football here at Cartersville High (and teaches at the Middle School), so I've been cheering on the Canes every Friday night for the last couple of years. I am super excited to OFFICIALLY be a Purple Hurricane!

I have four children -- two adult daughters (Caitlin and Bethany) and four-year-old twin sons (Parker and Tate, who attend Cartersville Pre-K). When not running after my twins or grading student essays or cheering on our Canes, I'm either baking or blogging. These are all a few of my favorite things. (Yes, even the grading!)

I am passionate about teaching students how to use and utilize their voices to communicate effectively with the world around them.  I received my B.A. in English from Kennesaw State University and my Master's in Teaching from Marygrove University.

I am SO looking forward to this 2018-2019 school year!
