Mrs. Heather Candela
Hello, I am Heather Candela, and I teach AP Lit and Advanced Composition. This is my twenty-third year of teaching and my seventh here at CHS. My husband also teaches here (Social Studies) and coaches football (GO CANES!!!).
I have four children -- two adult daughters (Caitlin and Bethany) and nine-year-old twin sons (Parker and Tate, who are at Cartersville Elementary). When not running after my twins or grading student essays or cheering on our Canes, I'm either baking or blogging. These are all a few of my favorite things. (Yes, even the grading!)
I am passionate about teaching students how to use and utilize their voices to communicate effectively with the world around them. I received my B.A. in English from Kennesaw State University and my Master's degree in Teaching from Marygrove University.
I am SO looking forward to this 2023-2024 school year.
