Cartersville High School's Math Team competes several times during the school year around the state of Georgia. Math competitions generally include a written test and timed ciphering. Students are chosen to be on the Math Team based on success in our Accelerated and Honor's Mathematics courses and recommendations from math teachers.

UWG Math Day Competition
Four teams of students from four different levels of math compete at the University of West Georgia in March of each year. This competition is known as Math Day at UWG.
The four levels of competition are Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Math, and Calculus.
Students are chosen by their math teachers to participate in this competition. Each student will travel to UWG in Carrollton and take a written test in their area. Then the four groups combine to compete as a whole on a ten question Team competition which is timed and scored according to the fastest correct answers.

Kennesaw State Math Competition (usually in October)
This math competition consists of a 2 parts. Part one is in October and part 2 is by invitation only in February.
Part one is a 90 multiple choice mathematics test without a calculator. The competition is TBD.

Berry College Fall Math Competition (date-TBA)
This competition is held at Berry College. Students take a multiple choice test and compete in a ciphering 10 question event. These are followed by a team problem to be solved in 20 minutes and by working together as a team.
Students are chosen by the sponsor using recommendations from Cartersville High School math teachers.
