Ms. Sara Tornincasa

Hello Canes Nation!

My name is Sara Tornincasa and I am a graduate of Cartersville High School, class of 1997!  A native of Port Arthur, Texas, my family moved to Cartersville in 1986 when I was eight years old. This is my eleventh year teaching and my fifteenth year of education!

I hold a Bachelor's in Human Services with a focus in child and family welfare and a Master's in Teaching, Secondary English, both from Kennesaw State University.  I began my teaching career at Mason Creek Middle School in Douglas County as a middle grades ELA and Reading teacher.  After three years at DCSS, I moved into ESOL education at Cedartown High School and I spent four years as their Lead ESOL teacher; I am now in my fifth year as an ESOL teacher at Cartersville High School.  It is truly SO good to be home with my beloved Canes!

I have one daughter, Elizabeth, who will begin her college career at Kennesaw State University this fall; she graduated May 24, 2024 from CHS!  I look forward to meeting you and your students in the coming weeks!  Please know I am only an email away and I look forward to helping your students as they continue what I hope is a lifelong journey in learning.  I believe that education is the key to a better tomorrow and as teachers, we hold the key ring to helping our students facilitate growth and achievement in an ever-changing world!  My students are my top priority at work, and my wish is to continually create and foster a classroom environment of respect.  Mahatma Ghandi famously said, "Be the change you wish to see in the world".  That is certainly my goal in my classroom!
