Mrs. Ash

I am so very happy about beginning my fifteenth year of teaching. I have experience teaching Kindergarten, third, and fifth grades. I must say that fifth grade is my absolute favorite grade to teach. I was a fifth grader myself when I decided to become a teacher. There is nothing else that I want to do! I began teaching at CES as a third grade math, science, and social studies teacher in 2014. Prior to moving to Cartersville, I taught in Auburn, Alabama and my hometown, Louisville, Kentucky. I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. I then went on to earn a master's degree at Indiana University Southeast. In 2020, I earned a specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Piedmont University. My current learning goal is to complete a STEM/STEAM endorsement. I love hands on math and science, and believe the only way to enrich my students' learning is for me to be a lifelong learner who is equipped to teach twenty-first century learners.

I am thankful to teach and learn with the students and teachers at CES. We have a remarkable team of fifth grade teachers and students! I am looking forward to an awesome school year of teaching and learning. The wheels are up and we are ready to take off with this year's group of students. Go Canes!
