Mrs. Melinda Goken

Hello fourth graders and parents!  My name is Melinda Goken and I am excited to be your child’s math and science teacher. I am truly looking forward to a great year and am excited about working with all of you! 

I grew up in Spokane, Washington, and served 24 years in the Air Force after graduating from high school.  I am married to Tim Goken, and we have four grown children and two dogs.  I enjoy hiking, camping, boating, and yoga.   

I attended college at University of Phoenix where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.  I earned my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Wayland Baptist University.   This is my fourteenth year as an educator and my eighth year teaching for Cartersville City Schools. I have taught 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade.  I am looking forward to another amazing year here at CES! Go Canes!
