Mrs. Sharon Balsor, Special Education Teacher

This is my fifth year at CES. Previously, I spent 19 years at CMS as a resource ELA teacher and the lead special education teacher.

Education has always been an important part of my life. I grew up in Flemington, NJ where my father was an elementary school guidance counselor, and my mother worked in the school office. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Sociology from Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. I also have a Master's Degree in Literacy from Walden University and a Specialist's Degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. I first started working as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional when we lived in St. Mary's, GA. This is now my 25th year working in education. 

On the personal side, my husband, Leo, works for Clorox. We love to take cruises and travel to new places. This summer we visited Ireland, Iceland, Scotland, and England. My daughters, Rebecca and Charlotte, both graduates of UGA, are living independently and pursuing their careers. Since they have left, all my attention now goes to my little Morkie named Harry!
