Cartersville School System recommends registering a phone number before registering the mobile app. When prompted to register for MFA, click Next.

Please note: Once you are invited to use MFA you will have 14 days to register.

Select Authentication phone from the drop down menu and enter your personal mobile phone number. Then choose to receive a code via text message and click Next.

Please note: There is also an option to receive a code via phone call.

Enter the code you receive to authenticate and click Verify.

The verification process will finish and log you in to Microsoft 365. You now have the option to download and use the Microsoft Authenticator App for future authentication.

Please note: After your account is enabled for MFA you may be prompted to re-authenticate to multiple Microsoft 365 servers (e.g. Teams, Outlook, etc.).

To check your authentication settings or update your phone number, log in to Microsoft 365, click your profile photo in the top right corner, and select view account. 

In the Security Info section, select Update Info.

The Security info screen will show your default method for sign in and list all methods currently connected to your account. As in the screen shot, you should already have a phone number associated with your account.
