  • The Georgia School Board Association recently recognized Cartersville City School Board for its innovation and excellence. The GSBA honored our school board as a recipient of the Leading Edge Award, highlighting districts and school boards leading the way in ensuring students are competitive in an ever-changing global market. The board was awarded for its innovative practices in implementing True Accountability.
     
    The board also earned the Georgia School Boards Association’s 2022 Exemplary School Board recognition, designed to showcase best practices in school governance and leadership. The GSBA Board Recognition Program is a three-tier process to achieve the highest level of board governance. The three recognition levels are Quality, Distinguished, and Exemplary, with Exemplary being the highest level.

Public Comment Form

  • Visitors who would like to share a public comment at the Cartersville City School Board meetings will need to complete the Public Comment Form before Noon on the day of a Cartersville City School Board meeting. All guests who complete the form by the appropriate time will be allotted a time period of three minutes to speak during the Public Comment portion of the school board meeting.

Meeting Schedule

    The Cartersville School Board officially meets on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. with the exception of April, in which the meeting will be on the third Monday, due to Spring Break. Meetings will take place on a rotating basis at each of the CCS schools and the school board office. The School Board will hold a learning session and data review on Saturday, September 21, 8:30 a.m. at the Board of Education office. 

    Board Work Sessions are scheduled for 6 p.m. the Thursday preceding the regular Board Meeting.

  • Board Committee Meetings

    Committees of the Cartersville School Board are scheduled to meet each month according to the schedule below. These meetings are subject to cancellation.

  • * Due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, the Technology Committee will meet on Thursday, January 11 at 5 p.m. located at 323 South Erwin St. 

  • ** The Finance Committee meeting scheduled for June 3 will be combined with Building and Grounds Committee meeting on Thursday, May 30.
