Dear Families,

Construction of the new Cartersville Primary School (CPS) is nearing completion and we are excited to welcome students in August 2023. In preparing to open the new school, a limited number of operational adjustments are necessary to accommodate the physical move of CPS. First, the school start and end time will remain the same; however, Cartersville Elementary School will start 15 minutes later.

Beginning in the 2023-24 school year, Cartersville City Schools will observe the following times:

Cartersville City Schools only provides transportation services for students who reside more than one-half (1/2) mile away from their school and students with an individual education program that mandates transportation. Students who have a route to school affected by one of three hazards, which are a river, a bridge with no sidewalks, or a major highway, will be considered for transportation.

Using the new location of CPS, the transportation zone was recalculated by measuring the one-half (1/2) mile radius and determining the physical streets that are affected. Attached is a map to show the one-half (1/2) mile radius and corresponding streets. It provides a visual and detailed account of those who will or will not receive transportation due to their physical address or assigned bus stop and its distance from the new CPS. It also provides the same information for those who no longer live within one-half (1/2) mile radius of CPS.
