Emily Burrows
My name is Emily Burrows, and this will be my 8th year teaching. I chose Cartersville City Schools because the community is unparalleled. The system truly supports their teachers and does whatever it takes to meet the needs of the students. My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with students and making the curriculum fun, engaging, and accessible to students of all ability levels. I look forward to a great year!

I am so excited to be a Purple Hurricane. This is my 7th year teaching. I chose Cartersville because I love this community and am looking forward to become more involved with the Hurricane Family! I love being a teacher because I get to share my love for learning with the next generation and teach them the power of a growth mindset!

Bridget Durham
I am very excited to join the Canes family this school year! This is my 17th year in the classroom! When I’m not in the classroom I can usually be found outside with Charlie, my labradoodle puppy. Currently she is in obedience training and has been invited to attend agility training this fall! I have chosen to teach here in Cartersville City because of the small town, close-knit community that is important for student success! I have had the privilege of always teaching grades 6 - 8! I love so many things about teaching, but I’m inspired by being part of each student’s growth.

I graduated from Cartersville in 2014 and am entering my 5th year of being an assistant coach for the high school girl’s basketball team. I chose Cartersville because of the welcoming environment I have felt my entire life. There is no place like home for me.

Nancy Kelly
I have been a counselor for over 15 years, and I am excited to begin working in my home town of 26 years. I love being a counselor, especially in middle school, because students this age are learning to be independent. It is rewarding to help students learn important, lifelong social skills and to help them prepare for high school.

Sarah Moore
Hello! I’m Sarah Moore, I’m so excited to be at Cartersville Middle School. My true goal in life is showing students what they are capable of becoming, so Cartersville seemed like a natural choice when seeking a new school. This is my second year as a paraprofessional working with students with unique abilities. Thank you for welcoming me into the CMS family. GO CANES!
