Welcome to the Cartersville High School Counseling Page! I am very excited to join the CHS Counseling Department this year and look forward to getting to know my students and their families. I believe in our commitment to "Making it Personal" for every student who walks through our doors, and I hope that each one who enters here will leave feeling more confident and capable to navigate their lives as they become young adults.
The 2019-2020 school year is my 11th year in Education. I began my career as a high school English teacher and enjoyed teaching grades 9-12 for four years, both in Birmingham, Alabama, and Nashville, Tennessee. In 2013, I was fortunate to transition into the role of school counselor, which I had looked forward to since I was a high school student working as an intern in the counseling office! In 2018, we relocated from Nashville to Knoxville, Tennessee, for my husband's job. I continued working as a high school counselor in Knoxville until the end of the 2018-2019 school year, when my husband's company offered us the opportunity to relocate yet again to the Northwest Georgia area. We were thrilled to pack up all the boxes one final time, as this move brings us close to home and family. In our house, we yell ROLL TIDE and GO JACKETS! Also, if you want to put me in a good mood, just ask me about my cat. :-)
