The CES Art Club was started in January of 2019 to give additional creative opportunities to our top 4th and 5th grade artists. After an overwhelming response, two Art Club groups were formed - “Team Picasso” and “Team Van Gogh” - which meet on alternating Thursdays after school. Creative focus includes both individual and group projects. Individual projects are created by students using a variety of mediums such as clay, paint, paper, and print. Group projects foster teamwork and include artworks that can be displayed at our school and in the local community. Plans for group projects include a plastic bottle cap mural, painted rock garden, art to benefit CES’ March for Babies campaign, and a “1,000 Paper Cranes” sculpture. Future events may include field trips, guest artists, “Random Acts of Art” for our school and community, and participation in the student art division of the Marietta/Cobb Musuem of Art’s “Chalktoberfest”.
We are very excited about this opportunity to bring more art experiences into the lives of our students and we cannot wait to share the outcomes of our many projects. Stay tuned to see our results!

The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
