Art Club
The CES Art Club was started in January of 2019 to give additional creative opportunities to our top 4th and 5th grade artists. For the current year (2024-2025), Art Club groups will be formed at the end of August and will most likely occur on alternating Thursdays after school until 4:00 pm. Creative focus in Art Club includes both individual and group projects. Individual projects are created by students using a variety of mediums, such as clay, paint, paper, and print. Group projects foster teamwork and include artworks that can be displayed at our school and in the local community. In the past, plans for group projects included a painted rock garden, art to benefit CES’ March for Babies campaign, among many others. Future Art Club goals include field trips, guest artists, “Random Acts of Art” for our school and community, and participation in the student art division of the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art’s “Chalktoberfest”.
I know students are excited about getting Art Club going again!!! Any student who was a member last year will automatically be in this year unless they desire not to be. Should that be the case, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can offer that space to another student. I will notify students and parents as soon as I know when we will begin Art Club (sometime after Labor Day weekend. I am very excited to bring more art experiences into the lives of our students this year and cannot wait to share the outcomes of our many projects. Stay tuned to see our results!

The problem is how to remain an artist once he or she grows up.”
