Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Mattie Frye Wilson
Welcome! My name is Mattie Wilson, and I am both honored and excited for the opportunity to be teaching young minds in our community. I married my best friend and husband, Dominique Wilson, this year on June 9th and I am still in the process of changing my name, officially, to Wilson. I live in Cherokee county with my husband and our many animals, including ducks, chickens, cats and dogs. We spend most of our time working in the garden or hiking, and I love being in nature. I graduated from KSU in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and I completed my teacher certification program through TeacherReady in May.
Teaching is my passion, and I believe that the connections and discoveries students make at school are critical in supporting their journey as lifelong learners. I am dedicated to ensuring all students make these connections by providing hands on experiences and treating each individual with love and respect. It is my personal goal to learn something new every day, and I hope to bring this philosophy to my classroom and share it with my students. I have worked as a paraprofessional for the last two years in the Bartow community while I earned my teacher certification; I could not be more excited to begin working as a teacher in my own classroom and share my love of learning with others.
Thank you so much for working with me to enrich student's minds, hearts, and lives. It is a privilege to teach, learn, and grow with you this year.
