Coaching History

I grew up in Cartersville, GA playing baseball in the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department. I started wrestling and playing football in Cartersville Middle School.  I continued to play Football, Baseball and wrestled through my high school career.  I moved from Cartersville High to Fultondale High in Birmingham, AL after my father passed away during my Freshman year.  I was fortunate to be on the 1998 & 1999 AHSAA Wrestling State Runner-Up Teams at Fultondale. I made the Alabama All-State Football Team during my senior year.

I earned a Football Scholarship to Bethel College in McKenzie, TN out of high school.  I played fullback/linebacker for the Bethel Wildcats and earned a "Best Special Teams Player" award as a freshman.

Upon graduation, I returned to Cartersville, where I served the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department as Referee for Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Softball.  I also served the Northwest Georgia Community as a Georgia High School Association Football Official with the Etowah Valley Football Officials Association.

I began my coaching career at South Central Middle School, where I coached football, wrestling, baseball, and soccer.  I moved up to Woodland High School in 2010 where I served as an Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Football team, Assistant Coach of the Wrestling Team (2011 Wrestling State Duals Champions & 2012 Wrestling State Duals Runner-Up), and I served as the Head Mens Soccer Coach as well.  I became an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Cartersville High during the 2014-2015 Season and served through the 2017-2018 season in that role.  I will serve as the Head Wrestling Coach for the 2018-2019 School Year after former Head Coach Garvin Edwards retired in June 2018.  I was selected to be an Assistant Coach on the Team Georgia Wrestling Junior National Duals Team that traveled to Tulsa, OK in June 2018 and competed in the olympic wrestling styles: Freestyle and Greco.
